If you hire the Venue for a retreat, you need to pay a €400 deposit to secure the booking. Any date booked without a deposit is not guaranteed. The deposit you pay is non-refundable. If there are unavoidable extenuating circumstances – such as Covid recently – you can defer the deposit to a future date. The deposit will be also used as a security deposit and will be refunded within two weeks of the stay. It can be used if there is damage to the property or breakages, excessive cleaning or any damages caused by third party contractors hired by the guests. It can be transferred to another retreat leader once only. The agreed rate for venue hire is paid one month in advance of the booking date. When you hire the venue you are accepting any possible discomfort or hazards involved including injury, disease or inconvenience.
Anyone participating in a retreat should abide by the conditions laid out by the group leader. Monalea is not responsible for any non-compliance to the conditions.
All public/bank holiday weekends involve a three night minimum stay. Christmas, Easter and New Years are also three night minimum bookings.
The cost of the venue hire includes:
The rental of either the barn or the barn and farmhouse. All electricity, heating and gas rates. Bath towels and hand towels in the bathrooms for all participants. Use of the facilities, except the sauna which will incur an extra cost of €100 for a weekend’s use.
If a gas canister runs out for the gas rings another one will be available for use but you will need to transfer the gas pipe if it runs out during your stay yourself. There Is a small amount of cooking oil, salt and pepper and sugar, if you are catering for large groups you will need to bring your own. We supply a small amount of matches and firelighters but you will need to bring your own if you plan to keep the fire going for the duration of your stay. You will need to bring your own firewood, available in all local petrol stations.
Retreats often bring people to another realm and somehow this translates to people leaving clothes and other items behind. We will endeavour to return pieces to their owners but can’t guarantee that we will find them after the clean up.
We expect the place to be left as you found it. Please RECYCLE as much as you can! All glass bottles and jars need to be taken with you, or you can leave fifty euros cash for us to do it for you. This can be taken from the damage deposit.
